Includes: Open water diving certification, Spanish instruction (30 hours) according to level, homestay (breakfast, dinner and laundry service included) or b&b option (double occupancy, air conditioning and breakfast included) and week-end excursion to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday

MORNING

Diving course description:
Schedule: 3-4 hours daily in the morning
Includes:

  • Theory: 5 modules
  • Pool sessions: 5 modules
  • 6 Open water dives: 4 check out dives and 2 additional dives
  • All books: Crew pack (manual, log book, dive tables, stickers)
  • Dive card: PADI certification card
  • Equipment rental: mask, snorkel, fins and SCUBA gear

Note: All dives are boat dives with a captain and a guide (instructor).

AFTERNOON

Spanish Classes: 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.

WEEK-END EXCURSION

Saturday and Sunday. Depart on Saturday and visit Rincón de la Vieja, a volcano surrounded by dry, tropical forests with hiking trails where students are able to see the boiling mud pools along the volcano base. After the hike swim in the natural water pools at the entrance of the park. Spend the evening in Liberia. On Sunday visit the Santa Rosa National Park, classified as a dry forest, this is the first national park in Costa Rica, and offers a selection of hiking trails within the forest.
Rincón de la Vieja National Park
In addition to over 250 species of birds, animals seen in the reserve include: deer, anteaters, over 50 species of bats and 3 species of monkeys. Within the park is "La Casona", a museum rich with historical importance; it was here where Costa Rica defended her independence against the North American colonizer, William Walker.
